President-elect Armen Sarkissian of Armenia on Thursday congratulated Armenian women—mothers, sisters, and daughters—on the occasion of International Women’s Day, and he wished them good health, success, high spirit, optimism as well as strong and prosperous families.

Noting the women’s exclusive role both in the family and in the society, Sarkissian expressed a wish that women have a greater role and involvement in all domains of Armenia’s state and public life.
