The Council of the European Union has extended for six months its sanctions on 150 citizens and 38 organizations of Russia, in connection with the situation regarding Ukraine, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

These measures include asset freezing of and travel restrictions for the individuals and legal entities on which these sanctions are imposed.

According to the respective statement, the European Union (EU) has assessed the situation and come to the conclusion that it cannot lift these sanctions yet.
