US Secretary of State nominee Mike Pompeo says “no one is under any illusions” that a planned U.S.-North Korea summit can achieve a comprehensive agreement on the denuclearization of the North, AP reported.

But Pompeo says a meeting between President Donald Trump and North Korea’s leader can set out conditions to decide whether an agreement can be achieved.

Pompeo says he’s optimistic it can “set us down the course to achieve a diplomatic outcome that America and the world so desperately need.”
