Russian President Vladimir Putin put forward Dmitry Medvedev for the post of prime minister, Kremlin press service reported.

The State Duma will consider Medvedev's candidacy on May 8, said deputy chair of the LDPR faction Yaroslav Nilov.

Medvedev was the chair of the Cabinet since May 8, 2012.
