At least 176 people were killed in landslides and flooding caused by torrential rain in south-western and central provinces of Japan, three others are critical, RIA Novosti reported.

According to the Japanese government, nine people are missing. Overall, 75 thousand policemen, firefighters are working in the disaster zone.  

Shops are not working in the area, 255 communities are left without water which is one of the most serious problems as the temperature is close to 35 degrees.
