An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 occurred Tuesday in the northeast of the Japanese Honshu island, RIA Novosti reported referring to Japanese meteorological service.

The earthquake  touched the prefecture of Fukushima, where in 2011 there was an accident at a nuclear power plant.

According to the source, the epicenter of the earthquake lies at a depth of 20 kilometers.
