Sochi International Airport of Russia will provide compensation to the family of the airport’s Armenian employee Vladimir Begiyan, who died of heart attack during the operative actions after a plane made a disastrous landing at the airport.

RBC news agency reported about the aforementioned citing the airport press service.

“A decision has been made on monetary payment,” the press service noted. “It comprises the payment envisioned by the collective contract, accident insurance, and the amount of annual salary.”

Begiyan had worked at Sochi International Airport for more than 33 years. He was awarded with a letter of appreciation and a badge from the Russian Ministry of Transport.

A passenger plane, which arrived from Moscow, on Saturday skidded off runway during landing at Sochi airport, slid into a river, and caught fire. There were 166 passengers on board, and 18 of them received medical treatment.
