There have been no drastic changes in recent days at the frontline.

Tigran Abrahamyan, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR), told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am. He noted this commenting on the reports that the situation has changed dramatically at the frontline and Azerbaijan has been active during the days of the talks between Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev.

In Abrahamyan’s words, Azerbaijan conducted small-scale tactical trainings and military exercises in late August, but they did not bring about drastic changes in the situation. “At this moment there are no specific developments at the frontline,” he added.

Reflecting on Russian media reports on Azerbaijan purchasing $5bn worth of arms and ammunition from Russia over the past 25 years, Abrahamyan noted that it is hard to skip this information, against the backdrop of Azerbaijan’s statements with respect to preparing for military actions.

In addition, as per Abrahamyan, Azerbaijani media report about the deepening of Azerbaijan’s technico-military cooperation with Turkey, Belarus, and Israel, and regarding its prospects as well as new achievements that are expected in the near future.

“Risky messages are sent to the region,” Tigran Abrahamyan added, in particular. “In this situation, the efforts of the mediating countries [Russia, US, and France] should be doubled toward not allowing the situation to destabilize.”
