CSTO plays a key role for Armenian security, Armenian Parliament Vice-Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov said at the meeting with Belarusian Ambassador Igor Nazaruk on Tuesday, National Assembly press service reported.

During the meeting, the sides discussed bilateral cooperation, development of inter-parliamentary relations.

Sharmazanov, in turn, highlighted the importance of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries on international parliamentary platforms, particularly, within CSTO.

"The CSTO plays a key role for Armenia's security," he said.

According to him, an international scientific conference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk and Stalingrad will be held in October in Yerevan.

The Ambassador, in his turn, highlighted the importance of conference, noting that he would definitely take part in the event.

The sides also discussed the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Armenian-Belarusian intergovernmental commission in Minsk in autumn.
