The government has approved, at Thursday’s Cabinet session, the bill that criminalizes pickpocketing in Armenia.
Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan presented the draft laws on making an amendment and additions to the country’s criminal code, and on making an addition to the law on administrative offenses.
In addition, it is proposed to criminalize pickpocketing, which is a major problem today, Zeynalyan said, and he added that pickpocketing makes up around 65 percent of the thefts being committed in Armenia.
The government approved these bills.
