Serious social conditions and other factors have caused a rise in the marriage age in Armenia, Aharon Adibekyan, Head of Sociometer center, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Women’s marriage age in Armenia ranged between 20 and 22 years a few years ago, whereas it is 23 to 25 years. As regards males, their present marriage age is 27 to 29 years against 23 to 25 a few years ago. A number of factors account for that – job seeking, career and inability to support a young family.

Adibekyan also said that very many Armenian women will never marry during the next few years.
