Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of Armenia Armen Ashotyan, who is in Brussels, met with MEPs, the press service of the parliament of Armenia reported.

On September 5, Armen Ashotyan met with Co-Chair of the European Union-Armenia  Parliamentary Cooperation Committee (PCC) Sajjad Karim. They discussed issues related to Armenia-EU relations, emphasizing the importance of having a new format of cooperation aimed at enhancing parliamentary component of cooperation between the EU and Armenia.

Ashotyan also met with chair of the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee David McAllister. The political developments in Armenia, the democratic situation in the country, as well as the trends and challenges in the foreign policy were discussed. Issues related to implementation of EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) were also discussed.

On the same day, Ashotyan and  EuroNest Parliamentary Assembly co-president Rebecca Harms touched upon regional issues and highlighted the importance of implementing the Armenia-EU agreement. Touching upon the recent political developments in Armenia, Armen Ashotyan highlighted the balanced cooperation between the branches of power.
