YEREVAN.- Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani, who arrived in Yerevan as part of the delegation headed by Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan noted that Armenia highly appreciates relations with Georgia based on friendship and respect.

The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues on the agenda of the relations, including the process of implementing the agreements reached at the meeting of the leaders of the two countries. In this regard, the importance of holding periodic meetings and consultations at the MFA level was noted. The high level of trade and economic relations and the role in the intergovernmental commission were noted with satisfaction.

Touching upon the internal political processes in Armenia, Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that the new government is ready to continue the process of reforms in order to achieve the rule of law, create equal opportunities in the social and economic spheres, and fight against corruption.

The Foreign Minister presented to his colleague the process of regulation of the Karabakh conflict and the approaches of the Armenian side. The sides noted that the conflict must be resolved peacefully.
