YEREVAN. – Armenian Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan received members of the delegations of the Kansas National Guard in connection with the 15th anniversary of cooperation between the agencies.

As noted by U.S. Ambassador Richard Mills, the program of cooperation was developed in 90s when U.S. was faced with the task to develop relations with the countries of the former Soviet Union. The emphasis was put on the security issues, and it was decided that the most relevant is the Kansas National Guard.

The active phase of cooperation started in 2003. Peacemaking, transport issues, engineering support, medicine are an incomplete list of areas of cooperation, the Ambassador said.

Kansas and Armenia have been together for 15 years, Mills said, adding that he is convinced that the cooperation will continue.
