YEREVAN. – The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is stable, Armenia’s Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan said at a press conference on Wednesday.

He noted the aforementioned as he commented on the most recent ceasefire violation by Azerbaijan, and this time in the direction of Baghanis border village in Armenia’s Tavush Province.

“Such violations of the ceasefire regime occur regularly,” the minister said. “[But] our armed forces are responding; the situation is stabilizing.”

In his words, the causes of these breaches of the truce range from agricultural to engineering work, as well as sporadic shooting.

“[But] there is no reason to worry at this moment,” Tonoyan assured.
