STEPANAKERT. – Chairman of the Republic of Artsakh National Assembly (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR NA), Ashot Ghulyan, on Thursday received California State Senator Anthony Portantino, City of Glendale Mayor Zareh Sinanyan, and Elected City Clerk for Glendale Ardashes “Ardy” Kassakhian.

The Artsakh parliament speaker underscored the continuity of ties with the California authorities, and lauded the 2014 joint decision—by the California State Assembly and the California State Senate—in support of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, the Artsakh NA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

Senator Portantino presented to the parliament speaker the domains they have outlined for cooperation in Armenia and Artsakh. In the senator’s words, the respective activities in Armenia will focus more on IT, whereas in Artsakh—on agricultural development.

Also, Anthony Portantino spoke about his activities in the California Senate, with respect to human rights and crime prevention.

The interlocutors discussed the foreign political situation, and interparliamentary cooperation.
