YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made public and open threats against the citizen of Armenia Alexander Sargsyan at a regular campaign rally on Monday.

Alexander Sargsyan, the brother of the third president Serzh Sargsyan, issued a statement saying Pashinyan gave him a week “to return to the state budget the financial means that belong to me”.

However, as noted by Sargsyan, Pashinyan did not say a word about the reasons for him to return these funds to the budget.

“He is well aware of the fact that I did not receive these funds illegally, that they cannot be confiscated according to the procedure established by law, proceeding from a negative attitude towards me, trying to use my official position and authority,” he said.

In this context, he said that it is also worrying that the Prime Minister obtains information that is bank secret, thus violating the procedure established by law.

“I am sure that the PM obtains information about the fact that in 1985 - 1995 I was doing business in Russia and returned to Armenia with a large amount, and I did not stop working for a year,” he added.

“At this point, I do not want to touch on lawlessness and persecution carried out by representatives of the Armenian government bodies against me and my family members, illegal arrests imposed on my property and bank accounts, as well as huge losses caused to me as a result of all this. I call on the Prime Minister to appeal to all law enforcement bodies of Armenia so that they return to the legal ground, and to return the property and money belonging to me and my family.”

Sargsyan said he ready to donate “part of my money” to Armenia to build a strong homeland.
