YEREVAN. – Finally, after 23 years, it got to be an election campaign, and not an implementation of arrangements.
Armenia’s well-known comedian and actor Hayk Marutyan, who is also My Step bloc’s mayoral candidate in Sunday’s snap election for the capital city Yerevan Council of Elders, on Friday told the abovementioned to RFE/RL Armenian Service.
“I was an actual [election] campaign where all the political forces were battling—under equal conditions—for every vote,” he said. “There was freedom of speech; I assess [it] very positively.”
Marutyan added that a TV debate was conducted between several mayoral candidates, and that it will be aired in the evening.
