YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on Wednesday met with Staffan de Mistura, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Syria, in New York.

The interlocutors reflected on the current developments in Syria, and exchanged views on the humanitarian situation in the country and the possible steps to improve this situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Mnatsakanyan noted that Armenia has repeatedly expressed its concern by the crisis in Syria and, as a result, the safety of Armenians living in that country. 

The FM stressed that Armenia stands ready to expand its humanitarian mission in Syria, and aimed at meeting the urgent needs of the Armenian community in the country.
