YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on Thursday met with his Uruguayan colleague Rodolfo Nin Novoa, in New York.

The ministers discussed the avenues for further expansion of close cooperation between the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. Also, they stressed the importance of consultations between the MFAs of the two countries.

FM Mnatsakanyan noted that Armenia and Uruguay are interconnected by strong friendship and a commitment to universal values.

Also, the interlocutors highlighted the Armenian community’s active involvement in Uruguay, and its role as a bridge in the strengthening of friendship between the two countries and peoples.

In addition, the Armenian and Uruguayan FMs exchanged views on regional challenges and the efforts to address them. In this connection, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan presented to his Uruguayan colleague the Armenian party’s position and priorities in the process to pacifically settle the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict.
