YEREVAN. – The ministers and governors representing ARF Dashnaktsutyun and Prosperous Armenia party will be dismissed, Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan said when addressing a demonstration near parliament’s building.

“I have instructed my staff to relieve the ministers representing ARF and Tsarukyan factions of their posts. In addition, the governors representing these political forces would be dismissed during the upcoming meeting of the government,” he said.

PM urged the residents of Armenia’s provinces to take to the streets and demand snap parliamentary elections.

Those gathered in Baghramyan Avenue paid tribute to Charles Aznavour with a moment of silence.

RPA deputy Arpine Hovhannisyan and Tsarukyan bloc member Gevorg Petrosyan have introduced a draft bill suggesting amendments to the rules of procedure of the parliament, which, according to Yelq parliamentary group, would allow ruining the snap parliamentary elections after PM’s resignation.

Following PM’s resignation, people could surround the building of the National Assembly, and thus demand election of a new PM and dissolution of the parliament. Meanwhile, the bill suggests considering the parliament session postponed so that dissolution of the parliament could be avoided.

Earlier in the day the Armenian parliament pushed through controversial bill on rules of procedure with 67 votes ‘for’ ’. Armenian PM called on the citizens to gather in Baghramyan Avenue and surround the building of the parliament.
