YEREVAN. -- The extraordinary parliamentary elections will be held in late November or early December, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in Baghramyan avenue addressing protesters.

Pashinyan said he would resign as soon as the resignation of the ministers and governors representing ARF and Prosperous Armenia parties will be in force de jure. However, the PM did not specify the day.

“7 + 1 days later, the parliament will have to elect a prime minister. If during this period the prime minister is not elected, another elections must be held in 7 + 1 days. If the prime minister is not elected this time, early parliamentary elections should be held. A few days later, I will resign, and if it turns out that the people are in favor of holding early elections, the people and I will not allow the National Assembly elect a new prime minister. After my resignation, I will continue to perform the duties of the prime minister,” Pashinyan said.

He also announced that the elections would be held in late November or early December.

As reported earlier, Armenian lawmakers adopted the scandalous bill on introducing amendments to the procedures of the National Assembly.

The bill was approved with 67 votes for and one vote 'against'. Members of the Yelq parliamentary group which was headed by Nikol Pashinyan before his appointment as PM, followed PM’s call and did not register for the vote.

A large number of citizens have gathered in Baghramyan Avenue to protest against amendments to the parliament’s regulations that had been just adopted by the lawmakers.
