YEREVAN. – Armenian Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan received on Friday Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin.

The sides discussed new opportunities for the development of bilateral relations in the field of criminal law, the Prosecutor General's Office reported.

Kopyrkin highlighted the need for further strengthening of ties between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries and the readiness of the Russian Embassy to assist in this regard.

The Armenian Prosecutor General highly assessed the cooperation between the Armenian and Russian prosecutors, which fully corresponds to the high level and spirit of the allied, friendly relations of the two states.

Artur Davtyan also expressed his condolences to the Ambassador on the tragic death of Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Sahak Karapetyan.

As reported earlier, Russia’s deputy prosecutor general Sahak Karapetyan died in a helicopter crash in the evening of October 3.
