YEREVAN. – ARF Dashnaktsutyun supports holding snap parliamentary elections in Armenia, MP from ARF party Spartak Seyranyan told reporters on Monday.

Seyranyan said his party had voted for snap elections when approving the Cabinet program and is going to keep its promise.

“When we agreed with all the parliamentary forces, including during separate meetings, on holding early elections for one year, we realized that September, October, and November, and December, and February fit into the framework of this period, and it would be unfair, if not to say manipulation, to say that ARF wants to hold early parliamentary elections in May only,” the deputy said.

At the same time Seyranyan recalled that they had explained the conditions under which the elections must be held, first of all it is about new Electoral Code.

“If we don’t want some matters to be resolved after the early elections, and new ones to appear instead, and follow the path of a political and substantive resolution of the current situation, early elections should be held after the reform of the Electoral Code,” he stressed
