Former ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly (RPA NA) faction member, ex-Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan, stated that he fully supports Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and noted that holding a snap parliamentary election is a necessity.

He told RFE/RL Armenian Service that any reasonable person now  must support Pashinyan. “He is honest in his objectives, he is honest in his desires,” Kostanyan added, in particular.

As per the RPA MP, nominating any other PM candidate once Pashinyan resigns from this office would be “artificial and full of dangers.”

Even though the ex-attorney general still believes that there is no legal need yet for conducting a snap parliamentary election in the country, the current political demand for dissolving the NA is more important.

Last weekend, Kostanyan met with First Deputy PM Ararat Mirzoyan, and the RPA lawmaker stated that he had been “revolutionized” after that talk.

“I believed in the authenticity, honesty of those objectives, and, which is extremely important, in my view, in the consistency,” he added, in particular.
