YERVEAN. –The Prime Minister of Armenia in many ways reminds me of John Adams who was one of the founding fathers of the American revolution and was the second president, U.S. Ambassador Richard Mills said during his last meeting with reporters in Yerevan on Tuesday when asked why he gave the PM a book of John Adams.

John Adams led a change of the American people who wanted new government, changes and democracy in the country, ambassador said, adding that Mr. Adams worked all his life to make sure that the will of the people is heard and that will is  carried out.

“He was a big believer that political progress can only be achieved through polite and respectful discourse, that is open and involves all parts of the society,” he said.

Ambassador Mills said he wrote an inscription to the book that was Adams’ statement that the American revolution was not made on the streets and in the batter fields of America but it was achieved in the hearts and minds of the Americans by listening to each other.

“That message about listening, thinking, changing hearts and minds through discussions is the message that PM certainly agrees with and understands,” he emphasized.
