YEREVAN. –  The Organisation internationale de la Francophonie has to remain a platform for dialogue and sobering, French president Emmanuel Macron said in his address to the participants of the Francophonie summit in Yerevan.

“We live in different climates, we believe in different gods, we sing differently. There were wounds between us that were just beginning to heal. We are so different, but at the same time cohesive. We are united by language, and this language belongs to all of us,” noted Macron.

The French leader emphasized that the link between the organization members is being carried out not through the language only, but thanks to the vision of the world, hope, desire for peace, brotherhood, justice. Macron recalled that the summit is taking place at an important moment.

“We see enormous changes in the world. Lies, hate propaganda. All the rules around which we have united in recent decades are no longer in force. The dignity of man, the equality of men and women, everything is being questioned on all continents, ”said Macron. “What can we do? Create a sobering atmosphere. Due to some reasons we started accepting injustice.  The Organisation de la Francophonie can become a place where sobering rules. Without empty words. There is no one among them who could dictate will and rules, principles of democracy. I mean also myself, because France used to do it”.

From now on and till the summit in Tunisia, the motto of Francophonie has to be “returning to the hearts of youth”.
