YEREVAN. – Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has called to organize a big charity concert in memory of Charles Aznavour which will bring together world stars.

President Sarkissian toured the Aznavour Center together with the French leader Emmanuel Macron and his spouse Brigitte Macron.

“Let’s do a big charity concert in memory of Charles Aznavour, in Paris first. I will put all my effort to make it a success, and I am sure that we will have great singers coming to that event. I am sure we can raise money to support the projects of the Aznavour Foundation. There is only one condition: we will have the second concert in Armenia,” he said.

“Deal done,” Macron replied.

President Sarkissian recalled that during Elton John’s visit to Yerevan the singer visited the Aznavour center and said: “It’s a pity I am not Armenian”. Elton John told Sarkissian that he would be glad to give a concert in Yerevan, if Charles Aznavour agrees.

“When I called Aznavour he said: ‘it will be glad, let’s plan that’,” Sarkissian said.

Speaking about Aznavour, President Sarkissian described him as “100 percent man of the world”.

“Several days ago his second life started. His second life indeed started towards infinity”.
