YEREVAN. – I will depart from Yerevan taking La Francophonie me with me.
Louise Mushikiwabo, who has been elected new Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), stated the aforesaid at Friday’s final press conference of the 17th OIF Summit in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.
“I assume this position with great accountability,” she also said, in particular. “The confidence that you show in me is a great honor for me. You have guided me and placed your hopes also on me.”
Mushikiwabo, the Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, on Friday replaced Canada’s Michaëlle Jean, who lost her bid for a second term as the OIF chief.
