YEREVAN. – Leader of Prosperous Armenia says he does not understand why some people think he is not going to run in the snap parliamentary elections.

“Why shouldn’t I run in the election? How can it happen that I am not running?” he wonders.

Commenting on poor results of election to the Council of Elders of Yerevan where his party got only five seats, Tsarukyan said the Yerevan vote was not “election of the mayor” but “revolutionary moves” which were needed.

Asked about the timing of the snap parliamentary elections, Tsarukyan said people want elections to take place in December and he cannot go against the will of people.

“If we hold elections in December, it’s cold and… winter... and campaigning. But if people need it, we are supportive”.
