The Christian Social Union in Bavaria, which is the main coalition government partner of the Chancellor Angela Merkel-led Christian Democratic Union of Germany, will be the leader—by 35.5 percent—in the Bavarian state election, ARD television reported.

This political party, however, is losing the parliamentary majority in Bavaria.

According to exit poll results, the Green Party will amass 18.5 percent in the elections.

The Alternative for Germany party will get 11 percent of the votes, and also gain seats in the Bavarian legislature.
