Several members of the majority My Step bloc faction at the Yerevan Council of Elders are submitting petitions for giving up their council seats.
Srbuhi Ghazaryan, who was No. 2 on the My Step electoral list for the recent council election, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that she has decided to continue working as prime minister’s adviser, and therefore these two jobs are incompatible.
Nikolay Baghdasaryan, another adviser to Armenia’s PM, also will submit a petition to renounce his mandate as capital city Yerevan municipal council member.
“Now I’m going in order to write the petition,” Baghdasaryan told us.
Trdat Sargsyan, who has been appointed Governor of Vayots Dzor Province, also will submit a petition to give up his seat in the Yerevan Council of Elders.
