Turkish investigators are expected to arrive in the Saudi Arabian Consulate General in Istanbul to inspect it after the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul, the Independent reported.

The experts are expected to conduct an inspection late on Monday afternoon.

Earlier, Turkish police reported that Khashoggi, a columnist for The Washington Post, was killed in the consulate of Saudi Arabia in Turkey. Saudi authorities deny involvement in the crime.

The Washington Post wrote that Turkey had notified the US of evidence of the journalist's death.
