Armenians are a talented and unique nation, and this statement has serious grounds, said Armenian President Armen Sarkissian on Thursday.

His remark came at the ceremonial meeting devoted to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.

According to him, the existence of the National Academy of Sciences provides ample evidence of that.

“In the twentieth century in the Soviet Union, the power of Armenian thought was well-appreciated. And for this reason, during the war years, the National Academy of Sciences was founded in Armenia” the president said.

According to the President, the further development of ties between intellectuals in the republic should become one of the main national priorities.
