Moscow is waiting for official clarification from Washington following the US President Donald Trump’s statement to withdraw from the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles (INF), said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

‘We are waiting for official explanations from our U.S. colleagues,” TASS reported referring to Lavrov.

According to him, Russia expects the United States not to give up its share of responsibility on strategic stability.

"The treaty itself contains a procedure which provides for the possibility of withdrawing from the treaty. But this procedure hasn't yet been triggered," the FM added.
