INF treaty is a key to the European security, said French President Emmanuel Macron during the phone talks with his US counterpart Donald Trump.

Macron emphasized “the importance of this treaty for European security and our strategic balance," Bloomberg reported.

Earlier, Trump voiced his decision to withdraw from a 1987 nuclear weapons treaty with Russia.
