The revolutionary euphoria in our country not only has not diminished, but has doubled by the results of local [Sunday’s] self-government elections.

Armenia’s acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated the above-said during his Facebook livestream on Monday.

“We [the Civil Contract Party] have nominated, or supported a candidate in 15 towns or villages; and [solely] two of those candidates didn’t win by the results of the elections,” he added. “And what would have happened if none of our candidates had won by the results of the elections? Nothing would have happened. Our actions would not have changed because the objective of the revolution wasn’t that I or we [the Civil Contract Party] have power, but that you [the people] be the power.”

Speaking about the human resource policy of the incumbent government of Armenia, Pashinyan said as follows, in particular: “I believe any government cabinet should be balanced.”

At the same time, however, the acting PM stated that the government is not balanced only in terms of the number of women ministers. “[But] I hope we will resolve this matter also in the near future,” he added.

In addition, he congratulated female candidate Diana Grigoryan on being elected Mayor of Vagharshapat (Etchmiadzin) city.

“A female [city] mayor has been elected in Armenia for the first time,” Nikol Pashinyan said. “And this is the next important result of our revolution, [and] which shall be historically recorded.”
