Armenian Acting Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan held a meeting with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the South Caucasus Rudolf Michalka, Armenia Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.

The sides discussed developments in the region, exchanged views on the prospects for the work of the office of the special representative.

Mnatsakanyan presented the internal political events of Armenia, adding that the government continues reforms aimed at fighting corruption, the rule of law, strengthening justice, creating equal opportunities in social and economic fields. In this regard, the sides highlighted the importance of co-operation with the OSCE.

Presenting the position and approaches of Armenia in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mnatsakanyan confirmed the readiness of the Armenian side to an exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group.

Armenia attaches great importance to the creation of an atmosphere of security and peace, said acting FM, adding that international partners should refrain from actions that could lead to an arms race in the region and increase the danger of destabilization.
