Vice President of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov, on Tuesday met with secretary general Yury Osipov of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS), in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
They conferred on the Armenian NA delegation’s involvement in the activities of this interparliamentary assembly.
Sharmazanov noted that the IPA CIS is an important parliamentary platform for discussing regional issues.
Also, the interlocutors exchanged views on regional security, and they underscored solely pacific resolutions of conflicts.
“To that end, belligerent rhetoric and preaching of xenophobia should be ruled out,” the Armenian parliament deputy speaker said. “Sale of arms to Azerbaijan contributes to the destructive moves of that country.”
