NATO has no plans to increase the volume of nuclear weapons deployed in Europe, even despite Russia's violation of the INF treaty, said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg
According to Stoltenberg, the US fully comply with the agreement under the INF Treaty, while the Kremlin violates it, BBC reported.
"All allies have strongly stated that we are concerned about the new missile and that the most plausible explanation is that Russia is in violation of the INF treaty. But you also understand that this is not something that can go on because the treaty is not working if it's only respected by one side,” Stoltenberg said.
The US suspects Russia of developing a land-based cruise missile system, which violates the INF Treaty, believing that this could allow Moscow to launch a quick nuclear strike on Europe. Russia denies the charges.
