Austria, which currently hold the presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU), has called on all EU member countries to stop arms supplies to Saudi Arabia.

Journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s murder is a deep shock, but this is just the tip of the iceberg, Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl told Die Welt.

“First, the war in Yemen and the Qatar crisis should push the European Union toward joint actions against Saudi Arabia,” she added.

In her view, a ban on arms supplies to Riyadh can contribute to ending these conflicts, Deutsche Welle (DW) reported.
