An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 hit the Indonesian coast, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

Underground shocks were recorded 82 km from the Ternate island. The center of the earthquake lies at a depth of 123.6 kilometers.

No information on the victims has been received yet.
