The legendary heavyweight Yuri Vardanyan's body was transported to Armenia on the night of November 11, Deputy Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies, Armen Pambukhchyan told Armenian News- NEWS.am.

A memorial service will be held in his native city of Gyumri on November 12 and in Yerevan on November 12. On the same day he will be buried in the Komitas military pantheon.

The 62-year-old athlete died in U.S. on November 2.
