At their special meeting, shareholders of the Russian MegaFon company have voted in favor of appointing executive director Gevork Vermishyan as the company’s new chief executive officer—for a three-year term, Interfax reported.
Vermishyan replaces Sergey Soldatenkov, who announced in October that he was stepping down as MegaFon CEO.
MegaFon is the second largest mobile phone operator in Russia.
