YEREVAN. – The Armenian government did not approved the legislative initiative proposing to ban the same-sex marriages.
The author of the initiative was MP from Tsarukyan bloc Tigran Urikhanyan.
When presenting the draft bill, Deputy Labor and Social Affairs Minister Arsen Manukyan said that Armenia’s Constitution already states the marriage is possible between a man and a woman only. The same is envisaged by Article 10 of Armenia's Family Code.
