The work of Cairo airport's passenger departure systems was disrupted at several terminals on Sunday morning, Egypt's civil aviation ministry said in a statement.

The statement explained that the disruption was caused by a technical breakdown in the communication channels between the global booking systems and the check-in systems, Ahram Online reported.

Several flights were delayed, and the repair works lasted three hours, but later the error was corrected.
