YEREVAN. – The matter of trust in Armenian-Russian relations now is at the forefront, said Director of the Institute of Diaspora Studies and Integration (Institute of CIS countries) Konstantin Zatulin.

According to him, if, due to some reasons, trust is violated, a different situation arises in Russia with the supporters of deepening relations with Azerbaijan. Feeling this, Azerbaijan is certainly interested in developing relations with Russia.

Even despite statements by Acting PM Nikol Pashinyan that relations between Armenia and Russia had never been so productive before, in reality there is a different situation, as investigations into the activities of the South Caucasus Railways and Gazprom have been launched, he said.

According to the Director, for the Russian side it is important that the Armenian people be united, and not fragmented and involved in political squabbles.
