Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev suggested that the partners in the Eurasian Economic Union hold the next organization summit in Astana in May 2019, RIA Novosti reported.

“I want to remind you that in 1994 I first came up with the idea of creating this particular integration project in Moscow at Moscow State University as I imagined a powerful economic union that eventually becomes a big player in the international arena and will attract others who want to work with us through their actions,” the President said.

“Next year, we will mark five years since the signing of contract and 25 years of the idea I have just told about. Thus I propose to hold a regular meeting in Astana, where we signed an agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union,” Nazarbayev added.
