Ukraine's parliament- the Verkhovna Rada- has approved President Petro Poroshenko’s move to terminate the Treaty of Friendship with Russia, 112 Ukraine reported.

People's deputies, taking into account “Russian armed aggression against Ukraine” decided to terminate the agreement on friendship, cooperation and partnership between Ukraine and Russia from April 1, 2019.

The law will come into force the day after the official publication.

As reported earlier, on September 21, the Ukrainian MFA sent a note to Russia on the non-renewal of the friendship treaty.
