YEREVAN. -- It will be difficult for Armenia to compete with other countries in a high-tech race, head of the EU delegation to Armenia Piotr Switalski said during the “Empowering Regions through High Tech-Forum 2018” conference at the Gyumri Technology Center.

Nevertheless, he noted, Armenia has a chance to succeed thanks to its clever talented citizens.

It is this human capital, and the improvement of the education quality that will help Armenia to move from the traditional model with a focus on the mining industry to a high-tech economy, he added.

By applying Armenians’ talents in IT, the country can increase its competitiveness.
